One of the funniest thing I’ve ever experienced here!
OK, so today is Saturday. So we took it easy in the morning, slept in. (since I felt sick last night).
Dustin knows how much I love to do things, anything different than staying at home or taking a coffee at A&W. So we wanted to go to 108 (Mile House) to take a walk around a lake. Dustin wanted a snack before we go, so we stopped at ‘Save-on-foods’ same thing as a Métro, IGA, Maxi. As soon as we leave the store, it starts to rain. Notre marche tombe à l’eau…
So we decided to check out the bowling place.
On our honeymoon, we went bowling, and it was the first time that Dustin played with big balls and pins! I found that suprising. Anyway, the place is quite old, there’s…10 aisles(one of them condemned)of small pins, some of the shoes are on the shelf, other are just left on the ground, the only music is from a simple radio facing the aisles, the balls are bumpy and I’m sure our aisle wasn’t that even!
Basically, the place is real old!
But the funniest thing is that there’s only 5 pins!!! Ok I’ll explain. You have 3 shots and each pin is worth different points. Like the one in the middle is worth 5 points, the 2 on its sides are 3 points each and those in the extremities are worth 2 points each. You can only have a spare on your second throw, not your third!?
Isn’t that weird? I mean, why would it be different than in Quebec? Or is that so because it’s an old place and they don’t have enough money to have 10 pins on each aisle?
Anyway, so we played 3 games.
1. Dust 130 - 110 Coco
2. Dust 138 - 127 Coco
3. Dust 81 - 121 Coco
He didn’t plan on losing the last game. I just won!
It was quite interresting and fun. It felt like it was harder because you have less pins to take down, but logically it’s the same. There’s just some holes instead of pins!
I wish I had my camera with me! It was a suprise when I came in!
I plan on bringing Gabe there because it was quite an experience in my life.
So this week I started my french class for the church. 7 person came, it all went alright. I’m eager to see them learn better and speak more (than just : bonjour comment ca va? ca va bien et toi? Je m’appelle:____ et toi?). At least 3 more person are gonna come next week, so we’ll do a review on what we’ve learn. I’m pretty exiting about all that. Even if I’m scare to miss something. I guess they will ask me if something is missing!
Last sunday at church, Rick annouced that there will be a 2 hour of worship this saturday, lead by Nathan, Morgan, Courtenay, Dustin and Corinne : even if she doesn’t know yet!
So tonight I’m gonna sing with them! It’s been a couple of weeks since I’m thinking about playing Saxophnoe again. I wish I had one, and I could play at the church! My guitar skills are not incredible. I like to play with friends or for myself, but there is way to much good players at church for me to play!
Well, I’ve talked enough for now!
(thanks to all who wrote me after the ‘breakdown’ post. I appreciate your support especially from the other side of the country!!)
