1st anniversary get-away!
We left Monday morning, after housiting for the weekend and a good breakfast at Gold Dust. I did not know where. Dustin told me to bring my bathing suit, cloth to be confortable in, warmer cloths for night and nice cloths for a diner.
So we drove south for couple of hours. Then Dustin saw hints of where we were going, and then we were approaching our destination. I was feeling totally lost and confused. We were in the middle of nowhere (according to my little knowledge of BC) past Abbotsford, and all I could see were farms and fields?!? I had NO idea.
Then we pulled into a street of motels and golf resorts. Then in the woods for about 10 minutes. Nothing but scary trees on a road less path, leading to nowhere land! Even Dustin confused, was looking for the place?!?He decided to go back and finally saw that small sign: Rowena’s Inn. It was by the Fraser river on a golf resort. There were signs saying: welcome to the luxurious resort, blah blah blah…
Still confused but exited, Dustin made a reservation on a logde cottage by the river! It was sooo gorgeous! It was not any cabin. When we came in, there was cheese fruit and wine waiting for us. A big room with a king size bed, big windows, a nice fireplace ready to be lite up, a table for 2, and sofas. The big bathroom had a good tiled shower, heated floor and a Jacuzzi!
The place was just wonderful, as for the view.It was pretty rainy, so we couldn’t take a walk outside, but it made the place far more cosy and warm. At 9h30 a.m, knock on the door, it’s our breakfast!

Scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, muffins, pot of coffee (pot of gold in Dustin’s mind), and jar of orange juice. Second morning was 4 eggs benedectine and potatoes. After room service on the second day, wine and cheese again! I almost told Dustin: We are So blessed! Well, are we? Yes because we have a wonderful cabin and good food and everything else. But we paid for that! So yes, we were blessed to be able to come here. And I am so blessed to have a husband who brings me to places like that!
Our first 2 days we mostly relaxed. Then we headed for Harisson Hot Spring resort & spa, 20 minutes from Rowena’s Inn. A little less luxurious, but more expensive?!?, we went into our king size bed.room. Why this place? Because there are hot springs! We had access to the spa and pools, and steam room in the changing rooms. And that place is special because they feed the spa with the warmth in the natural hot springs, and I tell you, it’s hot! Dustin loves over-heated bath, so he enjoyed that! I enjoyed getting out of the hot tub! I just love cold after hot, I may be one rare cold blooded human! It was almost relaxing. Because it’s a big hotel, and it’s spring break, there were families with kids running and screaming. All the pools were close to each other, and even the inside pool for adult was surrounded by children. So we went out, to the movie and shopping, and eating in restaurants, and walking and watching a movie in our room. It was pretty enjoyable, and quite an experience to bait in hot springs! We came back Friday and I drove for a good 1h30, 2h. Yes you heard me, I DROVE! I now got my Learner’s license. So when I drive I have a big L magnet on my bumper. Because I had my ‘temporaire’ in Québec I don’t have to wait a year again, so I’ll do my driving test on May 8th. And then have a great N on my bumper: for Novice. Isn’t that great! I’m just glad I can drive again!I know this post is long but I got to tell you guys that the elders from church gave us a green light to start the preparations for a discipline school this fall! We have much to do, but pray for wisdom for us as we make decisions and plans.
I also ask for prayer, Rick and Marci and selling their house, it’s been a long time since they wish to sell it. And they may have found a nice house to buy with a suite for us. Thanks again! Here’s so pictures for you to enjoy! (hope your computer has a good upload!)
