I would put up pictures of all the adventures that happened to me the past week, but since we’re leaving tomorow for our North trip I won’t take the time.
Where to begin?
Thursday was a pretty normal day for me. Except for the evening. We have been invited for a quite luxurious dinner with the founders of 108 mile Ranch (this is the town where our church is, yes it is 8 miles from 100 Mile House!) and the owners of The Hills Health Ranch (THE Resort/spa/ski hill/restaurant/cabins/tubing/gym/pool/ect place) They told Rick and Marci that we were invited to that dinner that I had no idea why we should be part of this? They also brought a girl that was visiting from Romania.
So the meal was mor ethan excellent (lower price: 24$) I took the fondue chinoise, oh so good, actually different from what I’m used to, the meat was thicker, but oh so good. Dustin had steak and Rick and Marci chose the salmon. So for the steak, they bring them on a heated plate (still cooking). The plate was on the table, for the 3 persons that surronded me. So one of the ladies took the spatula, asked Dustin wich one was his and served him. Well she actually touched her glass wich made her unbalanced the spatula, who dropped the steak on Dustin’s laps!!! haha it was worthy of a movie! His reflex was to squeeze his legs to catch, but since the steak was fresh from the plate it wasn’t pleasant! haha, I was just glad it wasn’t Dustin who dropped the steak on her!
One of the couple traveled quite alot, to visit different resorts and places (i guess for business?) They’ve been to Quebec couple of times and they were telling me about this incredible place where they got the best service in the world (and they’ve traveled alot). Even if the workers were not always able to speak english, they said that the level of service was more than 5 stars! I was pretty suprised. Even more when they told me it was …something Richelieu…’maner’ Richelieu. Oh Manoir Richelieu! I’ve been there when I was like..11-12. I was the only child left at home that summer, and we visited all of my mom’s..9-10 uncles, in that area. (it was pretty boring) I remember going in the entry of that manoir, it was gorgeous. And there’s a casino right in front of it, my parents went in to see, telling me to stay on that bench and not to talk with strangers! (i did talk to a stranger)
Interesting small world! Anyway the dinner was to celebrate the girl’s last night in Canada, and something else… After hte meal we walk to their place and ate pie with coffee (decaf, I’m pregnant). And then talked about Romania, people I don’t know, and spiritual stuff, it was really cool)
Friday was Dustin’s last school day! and it ended with a BBQ with the staff + spouses. I didn’t really wanted to go, because I don’t know anybody (not true, my friend’s parents were there) and I’m pretty young and I lost my social skills!!!
We didn’t even know if we had to bring anything. Thankfully I made 2 sugar pies, and brought the last one over there (wich ended up to be quite popular! they thaught it was pumkin pie when they saw it, they never had sugar pie before) So anyway, it all went well, I chatted with some people, talked about their experience visiting Quebec, and ate the side dishes (because you had to bring your own meat! So we were just chatting and eating (oh those desserts!) There was couple of ladie who were starting to be a little tipsy and decided to do like the men and smoke cigars! They were like kids who never tried anything.. kind of funny.
Then I wanted to play with the dog. His toy was a deflated basketball. So I threw it over our circle of chairs (well that’s what I was trying to do) And I hit this older quiet lady who is retiring this year, right in her face!! (also wotrhy of a movie) My face turned red so fast, I stood up right away, going to her, saying I’m so sorry, (everybody was laughing) And now my talent of acting came to me and I burst with every excuse I could possibly think of:
” Oh! I’m so sorry… I’m a girl, so and can’t really throw…hum… I’m pregnant and I do some pretty irrationnal things you know?.. I’m sorry. I speak french, well I’m from Quebec so…yeah, over there it means congradulations, we do that all the time… I’m so sorry”
It made them all laugh, I kind of felt better, until Doug (friend’s father who goes to our church) comes up to me and says: you know I love you Coco, but I won’t let you forget this.
NNNnnnnnnOoooooo!
Yep, so pretty humbling experience, and I only wanted to stay in my corner not to be the center of attention, here you go. I guess I can’t fight against who I am. I am what I am.
And sa’turd’ay, I went with Rick Marci and Lloyd (called LeLloyd!) To the annual BridgesLake Rodeo!!! It was my first rode, and I took lots of pictures. (sorry not today) It was the perfect day; no clouds in the sky, dais with a roof over our head, the hot-dogs were huge and the bulls insane!
It was cool to see kids to old men participate. Scary too to see junior kids going on a small bull. There was all different kinds of games, my favourites were bull riding, catching calfs with a rope while riding a horse and the hlaf time game with kids! There was at least 50 kids in the rink and one poor little piggy. goal of the game: Catch the piggy! So they put the kids touching the fence and the piggy is in the middle of the rink. When they said GO, you could see the kids running like cray towards the pig who had No Idea what was going to happen. Then suddenly he realized it and ran for his life. Really funny to see all those kids running aroung, jumping on their belly, falling to catch that piggy! I could’nt see if they really caught it or it escape under the fence!
And what is a real rodeo without the ambulance coming in the rink? Bull riding a huge bull, a guy got stepped on his torso I think! Others were roll on the ground by bulls horns. It’s kind of foolish, or I guess manly!
And then SUNday was indeed really sunny and hot. Dustin left after church with his buddies to go camping/fishing, so I visited my friend Courtenay who was also left without the husband! We ate and talked and played Indiana Jones Lego on Wii, then Emily woke up (2years old) so we went at the park to swim in the creek, eat picnic and go swinging on the play ground. It was a beautiful perfect day outside. It finnaly feels like hot summer now. And swimming felt really good!
Then we watch the movie: absolutely, maybe. Wich was romantic, kind of messed up, but cute.
Today I got ‘work’ to do.
Hey I’m in my 12th week of pregnancy! That means, I’m almost done my first trimester. It went by fast, and pretty easy for me. Oh talking about that, I should go eat again…
See you all soon! (Qc 10 days!!!!!!!!!!)
(by the way, zaza’s bag contest, I didn’t win, but Courtenay did and she wanted to give the bag to me! I Win)
